In February, I was nominated in the ‘ONES TO WATCH (Off air)’ category for the Sports Journalism Association’s British Sports Journalism Awards 2021.
It was a huge honour to look down the list of categories and nominees and see my name amongst some of the best in the business who I’ve always looked up to.
The awards ceremony itself took place at the beginning of March and I was delighted to attend it alongside other BBC employees who were up for awards.
I didn’t win, which thankfully I knew before the night so I could just relax and enjoy the experience, but I’m so proud that my work was recognised and I had the opportunity to go and be a part of the ceremony.
Most of my 2021 work was based around producing Stumped for the BBC World Service and particularly the podcasts I produced about the impact of the Afghanistan conflict on cricket, which you can find out more about in my previous blog.
