This summer, I finished my third series of Around the Wicket on BBC Essex.

You can read more about when I started on the show here.

After a truncated season last year, it was nice to get back to some kind of normality with the cricket season in full swing and to get back to a full series of shows!

We covered so much in this series from super fans to playing cricket with diabetes to senior cricket to cricketers’ musical preferences.

The Players’ playlist was by far one of my favourite features we’ve done on the show. You can watch the videos below of the Essex squad’s favourite tracks and listen to the mega mix too.

It was also great to chat to sports promoter Barry Hearn who has been enjoying a cricketing comeback with Essex’s over 70s team and his thoughts on the state of the game in general. You can read more about his story here.

Some more of this season’s highlights are below. Hoping for more of the same next year!
